The National airline; Air India
announces its plan to operate 230 special flights for Haj pilgrims from seven
Indian cities of Delhi, Srinagar, Mumbai, Kochi, Hyderabad, Goa and Nagpur. The
official statement of the airlines states that the proposal is of 230 direct
flights, in two phases, will fly 38,000 Hajis directly to Jeddah.
The first phase to book air tickets of outbound flights
from India to Jeddah is set to commence from August 16. Bookings are offered
for the total of 115 special flights from these seven cities and will continue
till September 17. The second phase or the return phase to book air tickets in India shall
start from September 28 and will continue till October 28.
The airline will operate 115
flights onward and backwards in 340-seater B777-300ER aircrafts during the two
phases that will fly the pilgrims to/from Jeddah. Further it was announced Air
India shall offer exclusive pre-boarding facilities and provide special meals,
both on ground and in-flight to our valued pilgrims. A dedicated team from Air
India will provide all assistance to the pilgrims.
